Building a Community

Switch Shoes and Clothing in Multnomah Village is commitment to community.   Our children attend local schools, participate on local sports teams or performance teams, attend local community centers as campers or counselors, and of course spend many hours with family and friends eating, shopping, or hanging out in Multnomah Village.

As owners of Switch Shoes and Clothing we have the ability to impact our local community as well as communities through out the world in a positive way.  This is something that comes naturally to all of us and we feel so grateful to even have the opportunity to make a small positive impact.

Here are a few of the ways we work to build better communities.   We are committed to purchasing products from independent designers both locally and beyond.  These artists have tremendous talent, work ethic, and passion for their craft.  Their livelihood and often times their families are dependent on selling their products to stores like ours.  Some Israeli designers we buy from are simply one single family and they produce these beautiful handmade shoes, clothing, and accessories you find at Switch Shoes and Clothing.  Other Israeli companies who do have employees often times hire Palestinians who may not otherwise have any opportunity to earn money.

Switch Shoes and Clothing provides local schools, non-profits, and organizations a fundraising opportunity through the hosting of private parties at our store.  Team members and owners volunteer several hours of their time throughout the year, helping to produce local community events like Multnomah Days, Halloween in the Village, Christmas Gala in the Village, and more.

Finally, we collaborate with our fellow local businesses to support one another to allow all of us the privilege to continue owning and running our own companies.

Shopping locally builds better communities for all.
